OUR

BELIEFS

Authority of Scripture:

The simplest way to follow Jesus is by doing what He did. In Matthew 20:28, Jesus tells us He came to serve, not be served. By being obedient to follow Jesus in this way, we get to know Him on a new level because we experience first-hand His love for others.

Baptism:

The simplest way to follow Jesus is by doing what He did. In Matthew 20:28, Jesus tells us He came to serve, not be served. By being obedient to follow Jesus in this way, we get to know Him on a new level because we experience firsthand His love for others.

The Trinity:

Christians everywhere believe in proclaiming that our God eternally exists as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Those who deny that truth place themselves outside the doctrine of Jesus Christ and what or who He actually is. We believe in one living and true God who is the Creator of heaven and earth; who is eternal, almighty, unchangeable, infinitely powerful, wise, just and holy.

We believe that the one God eternally exists in three Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; and that these three are one God, co-equal and co-eternal, having precisely the same nature and attributes, and worthy of precisely the same worship, confidence, and obedience. Matthew 3:16, 17; Matthew 28:19, 20; Mark 12:29; John 1:14; Acts 5:3, 4; II Corinthians 13:14.

Our Mission

The mission of The Shondo Center is to lead people into a fully devoted relationship with God by loving people, cultivating community, and inspiring hope. We are committed to fulfilling the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18–20) by making disciples, teaching God’s Word, and reaching the world through the power of the Holy Spirit. We live by the creed: “Love isn’t love until you give it away.”

Our Vision

Our vision is to be a people transformed by God’s love who passionately desire to glorify Him. We strive to reflect Christ in all we do, serving others and building a community rooted in faith, love, and purpose.
