WHO WE ARE

The Mission of the THE SHONDO CENTER is to lead people into a fully-devoted relationship with GOD by loving people, cultivating community and inspiring hope. Our vision is to be a people transformed by GOD’s love who passionately desire to glorify GOD.

The Shondo Center has the task given by God for the people of God to accomplish HIS will, in the world. In simplest terms, the mission of our church is the Great Commission, as stated in Mathew 28:18-20. “Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Our task as the gathered body of Christ is to make disciples, by bearing witness to Jesus Christ the Son in the power of the Holy Spirit to glory of God the Father and to live by our creed that “Love isn’t Love, until you Give It Away”..

Secretary

My role as an HHA/ companion/ caregiver was to care for the needs of my clients. I helped prepare meals, assist with proper hygiene techniques, and help with light-duty cleaning. I also helped my clients set necessary appointments and run errands. Most importantly I made sure my clients were comfortable, satisfied, and safe. My top accomplishment in being an HHA was in gaining the trust of every client. My clients were assured that I would care for them and that I have their best interest at heart. I am happy to go the extra mile to ensure that anyone I assist, will have their needs met to the best of my abilities, even if it is not in my job description. Some of my values that have shaped my life as well as my career would be my service to others. My accountability, reliability, passion, compassion, honesty, respect, and professional attitude has brought me higher in my understanding of God’s word. To sum it all up. I treat others how I would want to be treated, and have gone the distance by this simple rule. Through serving, I have learned that my fullest joy comes from serving others. Ephesians 2:10 tells us why: “… we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God has prepared in advance for us to do.” You have been gifted by God, and you are incredibly valuable to Him and the church. Ephesians 4 goes on to explain how important each individual is to the church. Instead of trying to look, speak, and act the same, we are called to train each other up using the gifts, skills, and abilities God has given us; this is my mission. When I love as God loves, I find that “we’re all moving rhythmically and easily with each other, efficient and graceful in response to our Father in Heaven.

Authority of Scripture?

The simplest way to follow Jesus is by doing what He did. In Matthew 20:28, Jesus tells us He came to serve, not be served. By being obedient to follow Jesus in this way, we get to know Him on a new level because we experience firsthand His love for others.

What is the Trinity?

Christians everywhere believe in proclaiming that our God eternally exists as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Those who deny that truth place themselves outside the doctrine of Jesus Christ and what or who, He actually is. We believe in one living and true God who is the Creator of heaven and earth; who is eternal, almighty, unchangeable, infinitely powerful, wise, just and holy.
We believe that the one God eternally exists in three Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; and that these three are one God, co-equal and co-eternal, having precisely the same nature and attributes, and worthy of precisely the same worship, confidence, and obedience. Matthew 3:16, 17; Matthew 28:19, 20; Mark 12:29; John 1:14; Acts 5:3, 4; II Corinthians 13:14.
